VOLUNTEER PARENT SUPPORT WORKER (25+)
Our volunteer parent support workers are committed to helping parents or carers understand their children’s behaviour through one to one meetings so that parents can fully support their children through their challenging teenage years. Have you got what it takes to volunteer as a parent support worker?
VOLUNTEER YOUTH MENTOR (18+)
Our volunteer mentors and support workers meet with young people or parents and carers on a weekly basis for one to one sessions. Volunteering as a mentor or support worker offers the opportunity to be a committed source of help and support for young people or parents and carers.
YOUTHWORK VOLUNTEER (18+)
Our Youthwork volunteers work across the district in our youth clubs, supporting young people and joining in with activities. The hours can range from 1 per month to 4 per week and the role varies between each centre meaning there are a wide range of opportunities available.
YOUTHWORK VOLUNTEER (YOUNG PARENTS GROUP) (18+)
The Door runs young parent groups in Stroud and Dursley, offering a safe space for young parents to come with their children, to meet with other young parents and to access advice and guidance. Volunteers assist our trained youthworkers to prepare activities and run sessions. Current Sessions can be found here
RETAIL VOLUNTEER (14+)
Retail volunteers can be found in The Door's Charity Shop, which helps to raise funds for The Door. The Shop offers the opportunity to learn customer service, work on a till, learn how to rotate stock and gain experience in displays and merchandising, this makes it the perfect place to gain retail experience. Volunteers usually come in for a morning or afternoon each week but opportunities start at as little as 1 hour per month. Duke Of Edinburgh Students Welcome
