Everyone needs helps once in a while, a listening ear, some practical assistance or just somewhere to be you. The Door offers a wide range of services and activities for young people.

Aged 11-25 and live in the Stroud District? If you want to talk to someone about how you are feeling, need to offload or are worried about lockdown. The Door Line is now open Monday-Friday (Excluding Bank Holidays) 5-7pm. Simply call 01453 705350 during this time to talk to a member of The Door team. Usual call charges apply. “ Mentoring is really good -       it helps to talk things through and helps me to think ”

Meet with a friendly volunteer mentor to talk to about the ups and downs of life. A mentor will help you work through difficult times and situations, will do practical things to help you and fun stuff too. Spending time with you because they want to, not because they are being paid to.

If you would like to be matched with a mentor simply complete and return an application form and a member of the team will be in touch.

“ I can say what I want and I don’t need to worry ”

Meet with a friendly mentor who will support you as you leave care and start to live independently.  Spending time with you to help with what can be a daunting stage of life, from budgeting and housing to jobs and housework they will be by your side.

If you would like to be matched with a mentor simply complete and return an application form and a member of the team will be in touch.

Come along to one of The Door’s youth clubs to hang out with your friends after school or at the weekend. The majority have free entry and depending on which centre is local to you have a range of activities including table tennis, games consoles, cooking and music.

Visit our Stonehouse Centre for advice and guidance on your next steps, whether that be further education, apprenticeships or jobs. The Door’s team of friendly and professional youthworkers are here to help.  Alternatively pop in during your lunch break for a chat and a coffee.

Looking for something to do during the school holidays? Keep an eye out for #TheDoorOnTour activities and trips available at subsidised prices. Trips run from each youth club hub once or twice during half term breaks and once a week during the summer holidays. Make sure to like The Door on Facebook for up to date announcements.

Service Charge

As a charity, The Door’s services are made possible thanks to fundraising and generous donations from people like you. For example administering a typical mentoring relationship costs us £330.

To help keep our valuable services available to all some services will now include a one off payment towards the initial setup costs. We understand that this may be prohibitive for some families in which case we are happy to discuss this.
