Information for Parents, Carers and Young People
Stepping up to secondary school and becoming a teenager is not always easy. With new surroundings, new friends and new challenges for young people and parents alike. The summer holidays between year 6 and year 7 can be particularly difficult.
Through a programme of 4 bespoke sessions starting in July and finishing in September, the Door Step is designed to bring together young people to share the experience, support each other and build the skills they need for stepping up to secondary school and beyond.
Taking place in a youth centre near you,the sessions will focus on:
- Emotional Resilience
- Building Friendships
- Practical Skills
- Attitude and Behaviour
