Sessional Youthworkers:

Part-time, flexible hours, £10.24 – 10.92 per hour (Closing date:  Monday 4 July 23:59)

We are currently looking for Sessional Youthworkers to join our team.

In this role you would assist our Community Youthworkers in running sessions and on the streets work across Southern Gloucestershire.  Duties include contributing to the planning and delivery of our comprehensive needs-based youthwork programme.  Full training is provided, as is ongoing support and commitment to your personal growth and development in the role.

Experience of working with young people in a youthwork setting or similar will be an advantage, along with an awareness of the issues facing young people today.

Experience is preferred but we are very keen to hear from applicants who are committed, passionate and dedicated to being an outstanding role model and to support young people.

You will need to be available for approximately three late afternoon and evening sessions per week including school term times (more work may be available) and ideally have your own transport to enable access to our locations across Southern Gloucestershire.

Trainee Youthworker – Christian Outreach – Part of SWYM

illuminateStroud Coordinator Barrie Voyce is looking for someone to join our Christian Outreach team as a trainee youthworker.

The Trainee Youthworker will join the illuminateStroud team, which works to inspire and equip Christian young people as culture changers in their schools and communities, and enable all young people to have opportunities to explore the Gospel and Christian faith in relevant and accessible ways. They act as a link between young people and local churches.

illuminateStroud works with Churches Together in Stroud and Dursley, delivering discipleship groups, outreach, schoolswork, and leadership development opportunities for young people.

In this role you should expect to experience a variety of different youthwork settings and opportunities. You will need to be able to work with leaders and young people from different churches, backgrounds and theologies.

You will be helping deliver the vision of illuminate – inspiring and equipping Christian young people as culture changers in their schools and communities.

And be ensuring young people have opportunities to explore the Gospel and Christian faith in relevant and accessible ways

As part of this role you will

• Join the leadership teams of, Engine Room – discipleship group, Fusion Cafe – youth-led outreach
  
• Support lunchtime secondary schools groups, Prayer Spaces in Schools
  
• Learn to deliver sessions in RE lessons and School Assemblies,
  
• Take part in Youth Worship Nights, Residentials and Church Ministry with Dursley Tabernacle
  
• And get to be a part of open access youthwork with The Door’s Community Youthworkers
