PAUL RUNS FOR THE DOOR
Paul who has been running on and off for the last year or so has decided to take on the Stroud Trail Half Marathon while raising funds for The Door.
For the unfamiliar unlike road races the Stroud Trail race takes on more complex terrain. A gruelling 14 mile route starting in the Stroud town centre before heading along the canal towards Stonehouse, up the 600ft ascent to Selsley Common, towards Nailsworth and another 600ft ascent up onto Minchinhampton Common. If that wasn’t hard enough the route continues towards Amberley before heading across Rodborough Common and finally returning down a steep incline back to the centre of Stroud. In short, definitely not for the faint hearted!
Paul says “The Stroud Half Trail Marathon is a bit of a beast but I’m looking forward to the challenge” “I chose to support The Door as I have always had those with issues close to my heart. As a believer and follower of Jesus feel that The Door is doing excellent work to make real differences to those He cares about.”

MARY-JESS EP LAUNCH
The Door’s patron and past winner of Undiscovered Youth, Mary-Jess returned to Gloucester Guildhall, on Friday 20th April, to launch her brand new EP album. Her sublime voice continues to wow audiences across the globe and Mary-Jess’ new album ‘Inspire’ came about through a crowd funding campaign, a proportion of proceeds from which, will also be donated to The Door.
Mary-Jess continues to use her talent and experience to encourage and mentor young and emerging artists allowing them to get a foothold in the music industry. This has resulted in stunning duets on this EP, including collaborations with young stars Beth Ford, Ffion Rebecca, Tazmin Barnes and Kyle Tomlinson, plus the London Chinese Philharmonic Choir and G4 Young Voices.
Community Fundraiser Anne went along to the EP launch: “It’s always a pleasure to catch up with Mary-Jess and the concert was amazing. This EP is very unique with all the collaborators and we are very grateful for her continued support including the collection held this evening raising over £90”
