Chair of Trustees: Voluntary Position:

The Door is a Christian-based youth project, established in 1991 in Stroud, Gloucestershire
for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families. The Door currently runs
a number of youth clubs and detached youthwork sessions, alongside an extensive
programme of youth mentoring, for which we have been awarded the Queen’s Award for
Voluntary Service, and innovative programmes to support parents of young people and
whole families.

We’re looking for a Chair for our small board of trustees to help to shape and oversee our
exciting plans for the next phase of our development.

We currently have an annual budget of £350,000, 24 staff (mostly part-time) and about 80
regular volunteers – you can find lots more about who we are and what we do across this

General Positions

Over the past few years, The Door has continued to expand in the services we deliver. We find ourselves frequently approached by local authorities, agencies and other charities asking us to partner with them or to work in their area.

We have increased our workforce significantly in that time, and we are always on the look out for the right people to work for us.

We often have need for full and part time staff in the following areas:

  • Community based Youthwork
  • Mentoring young people
  • Working with the parents of 11-25 year olds
  • Fundraisers
  • Admin & Support staff
